Adapton (also known as stabilium) is a dietary supplement composed of an extract from a species of deep-sea fish (Garum Armoricum). Its therapeutic benefits stem from it containing a group of neuropeptides that are chemically similar to those found in the human central nervous system. The initial dosage of adopton is 800 mg per day (for the first two to three weeks). This dosage is taken as one single dose in the morning with a small amount of water. After two to three weeks, the daily dosage is reduced to 400 mg, also taken in the morning, all at once with a small amount of water. Most people do not notice any improvement until at least one week after commencing adapton therapy.
