Avoiding Alzheimer's Disease |
![]() Alzheimer’s Disease is on the increase due to an ageing population and increasingly polluted environment. The following suggestions will help you become healthy and help protect you from disease: • Eat good food. Avoid additives, colorings and preservatives. Fish, meat, free range chicken and eggs, homegrown chemical-free fruit and vegetables or organic where possible. • Drink good water, green tea, herbal teas and the occasional glass of red wine. • Exercise regularly, including walking, swimming, cycling and other sports. • Exercise your mind. Do crosswords, Sudoku, Nintendo, or computer games, including brain CDs. • Take correct supplements. Zinc, selenium, iodine, magnesium and vitamin Bs are essential. A practitioner-quality multi-vitamin will be more likely to have these nutrients in absorbable form than cheap supermarket brands. • Keep yourself alkaline. This allows the bowel to work well and to help you absorb nutrients from food while keeping your blood sugar level. • Have regular blood tests. LH, TSH, Cholesterol, Hormones and several others.
