Avoiding Alzheimer's Disease

Alzheimer’s Disease is on the increase due to an ageing population and increasingly polluted environment.

The following suggestions will help you become healthy and help protect you from disease:

•    Eat good food.  Avoid additives, colorings and preservatives.  Fish, meat, free range chicken and eggs, homegrown chemical-free fruit and vegetables or organic where possible.
•    Drink good water, green tea, herbal teas and the occasional glass of red wine.
•    Exercise regularly, including walking, swimming, cycling and other sports.
•    Exercise your mind.  Do crosswords, Sudoku, Nintendo, or computer games, including brain CDs.
•    Take correct supplements.  Zinc, selenium, iodine, magnesium and vitamin Bs are essential.  A practitioner-quality multi-vitamin will be more likely to have these nutrients in absorbable form than cheap supermarket brands.
•    Keep yourself alkaline.  This allows the bowel to work well and to help you absorb nutrients from food while keeping your blood sugar level.
•    Have regular blood tests.  LH, TSH, Cholesterol, Hormones and several others.
