DESCRIPTION

Senna is a purgative herb used in the treatment of constipation, working through a stimulation of intestinal peristalsis. Most of this activity is thought to be due to its anthroglycoside and sennoside content, which have a stimulatory effect on the gastrointestinal membranes. It is believed to be an intestinal ganglionic vaso-relaxant, having specific influence upon the lower bowel to restrict fluid reabsorption.
Its reputation as a bitter and alterative herb, further aids in enhancing overall digestion through the encouragement of the secretion of overall digestive fluids. Due to its characteristic cathartic qualities, senna is best combined with carminative type herbs such as Dill to reduce griping.

Buckthorn bark is considered a gentle form of laxative, generally having a calming influence on the gastrointestinal tract. Its alterative activity aids in the elimination of toxins within the body.

Psyllium seed is a grain that is typically grown in India, most often utilised for its natural fibre content. Although it is considered as a bulking laxative, psyllium has a gentle mode of action, lubricating the gut wall where it is seen to soften the stools and cleanse the intestinal tract. In addition, Psyllium assists easy evacuation of the bowels by increasing the reabsorption of water in the colon.

Dill is a powerful carminative, antispasmodic and stomachic herb, therefore useful in treating colic, flatulence and indigestion. Historically, it has been a popular herb in children because of its calming nature and its ability to ""stayeth the belly and stomach from casting"". It was once noted that women with pains and windiness will be offered relief if they sat in a decoction of dill.
Liquorice root powder is a strong neutralising agent and laxative, therefore a very effective herb to use in a detoxification program. It has the ability to strengthen digestion and protects the gastrointestinal wall from damage due to its ability to produce a mucus barrier over the bowel membranes. This makes liquorice a powerful healing, anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmodic herb.

Ingredients:
Each tablet contains:
* Cassia angustifolia (Senna leaf) 284mg
* Rhamnus frangula (Buckthorn bark) 23mg
* Plantago psyllium (Psyllium husk dry) 6mg
* Anethum graveolens (Dill seed) 6mg
* Glycyrrhiza glabra (Liquorice root powder) 6mg

Directions:
Adults: Take one to two tablets daily.
