Cordyceps

Cordyceps (Cordyceps sinensis), also known as caterpillar fungus, is a type of edible fungi that grows in high-altitude plateaus in China and Tibet. It derives its common name from the fact that it grows on the larvae of a species of caterpillar that inhabit the ground. When the caterpillar dies after the summer, a the Cordyceps sinensis fungus grows off its body. Modern cultivation methods have replaced the need to collect the fungi from individual caterpillars.

The general therapeutic dosage of Cordyceps is 750 - 3,000 mg per day.
