Evening Primrose Oil

Evening primrose oil is the oil extracted from the seeds of the evening primrose (Oenothera biennis) plant.

Most of the beneficial actions of evening primrose oil are attributable to its content (10%) of the omega-6 fatty acid named gamma-linolenic acid (GLA).

Borage seed oil (starflower oil) and blackcurrant seed oil are alternative sources of this fatty acid containing 24% and 18% respectively.

Dosages:

1,200 - 6,000 mg per day (which would supply 120 - 600 mg of GLA).
