Insect Repellent - Natural Relief |
|
DEET (or N-Diethyl-meta-toluamide) is by far the most commonly used chemical ingredient in insect repellents in the world. This is because it was thought to be the most effective repellent against mosquitoes and ticks. Some areas of the medical community have in the past expressed concern over the amount of DEET absorbed by the skin, particularly in children, and potential health risks. There are now natural insect repellents available that do not contain DEET and a blend of natural herbal blend of essential oils and aloe vera designed to repel mosquitoes, flies, fleas, sand flies and mites. It works by masking the telltale odours of carbon dioxide and lactic acid given off by the body, and by confusing insects at close range. The soothing property of Aloe Vera helps to relieve and heal insect bites and sunburn. Citronella is the natural plant based extract that is the main active ingredient in natural insect repellents, it is the most well known plant for insect repellents. First extracted from a grass plant, oil of Citronella has been used for over 50 years as an insect and animal repellent. The Citronella present is not expected to cause harm to humans, pets or the environment. It works by repelling animals and insects without harming or killing them, as it has a distinctive odour they dislike. OUR PRODUCTS: |
