Majors for Minors Classically styled Music is designed to:

Stimulate, strengthen and develop your child’s brain, and help her develop key skills

such as reasoning and thinking, as well as in areas of higher learning such as Maths

and Science.

Enhance auditory development, i.e. her ability to listen, to learn through sound, to

identify sounds and sequences of sounds, to store, process and remember what she

hears, to distinguish volume and pitch and to develop rhythm.

Facilitate the development of language, speech and reading skills.

Influence mood and attention, and have a calming effect on babies and young

children.

How it works

It is childhood experiences, i.e. what they hear, smell, see, feel, touch and how they are

treated that “wire the brain” - help neurons connect and develop into circuits. These

circuits, to a large extent pre-program personality, potential and actual achievements.

Will she be bright, friendly, outgoing, confident or good at languages or maths? To a

large extent, it is up to you, and how you nurture her mind!

What this means is that there are specific periods in your child’s life when neurological

“literally fade away”. Well documented research has demonstrated the positive effect of music on the development

and strengthening of patterns in the cortex in the brains infants and young children.

These pathways are the same ones responsible for certain cognitive functions, as well as

higher learning such as maths and science.

Dr Annette Lotter ( BA-Ed, B-Ed, M-Ed, D-Ed (RAU), D-Ind Psyc (SHL), who conducted

direct research with Majors for Minors Music, has reported that this music has helped

to reduce hyperactivity and sleep disorders in babies and children. Some of her latest

research with this music has shown improved attention, concentration and handwriting in

children, as well as children being weaned off prescription stimulants and depressants.

At conception of our series of music, we carried out a great deal of research in

understanding exactly how certain types of classical music stimulate brain development.

Through understanding the process involved, we went on to develop our own “UNIQUE

FORMULA”, consisting of a number of “KEY INGREDIENTS” that effectively used

together, produced this special series of classical music.

For example, a number of the CD’s have been produced with the use of one key

throughout. This has the resulting effect of being similar to “Pink Noise” or “Ocean

Sound” which has been shown to have a positive effect on the brain. Another of the

elements is “Frequency.” In parts of our music, our Flute instrument frequencies are

almost identical to the frequency of a whale call. There have been numerous

documentaries and research papers into the benefits of these frequencies, which have

been shown to calm and stimulate. We have greatly expanded this avenue of thinking and

associated theories, and developed a further range of “SPECIAL ELEMENTS” which

have been incorporated into Majors for Minors music. This unique “Ingredient List” has

worked with great success, and is what sets our music apart from anything else that is

available in this niche category.
